Long Range Test

No radar detector test would be complete without the long range test!

Ideal Location

The SML testing area is an ideal location because of low humidity, high elevation, and low microwave emissions.

SML positioned their radar guns on a nine mile section of flat Texas desert roadway. The temperature was 84 degrees and the humidly was 17%.

Each radar gun transmitted in ten second intervals for each detector.

The first number indicates the furthest distance in miles that the detector alerted, 9m = 9 miles

The second number is the level of the detectors signal strength meter at that distance.
